It was a dark stormy night, and there was no one in sight. Just me and you. The vet has gone home. The warehouse workers have put away the forklifts. The retail workers have fed all the pets. The Janitor has swept all the floors. And I am hiding under this desk. I don’t want to come out. I want to stay here forever. But apparently that’s not an option… You’re probably a little confused, so I guess I better start at the beginning…
Hi, my name is Bailey. Six months ago, I had no family, no friends, no toys, no home, and no job. But oh how that has changed since my adoption. I don’t want this story to give you the wrong idea, I really do love my adoptive parents. They are great. They saved me from a life of misery and gave me something to live for. But, we didn’t always see eye to eye on things…
After my owners rescued me, they almost immediately told me that I would have to get a job to help pay for all of my new toys! Can you believe that? Are they crazy? Me – Work? I don’t think so… So I went and hid. Under the couch… in the bathroom… behind the desk… and all the while my mom was running around like a crazy person with food hanging out of her mouth and one shoe on… I really don’t know about that one. I don’t get what dad sees in her…
Once she finally got ahold of me, she was huffing and puffing and her hair was a little messy. Like, seriously lady? My legs are tiny compared to yours… you should not have had that tough of a time catching me… maybe you should hit the gym instead of the office…
She seemed really frustrated with me… But I was just playing a game of hard to get… Then she put me in a carrier and took me for a ride in the car. Not going to lie, her driving made me a bit carsick. But at least her job isn’t too far from home.
As soon as we got to her work, all of her coworkers oohed and awed over how adorable I am. I mean, do you blame them? Look at me.
Then, big boss man came in, and that’s when I realized I had been tricked. She tricked me! I thought we were just going on a fun trip where I could get attention! But no. I was here for an interview…
Come on woman. Can’t you just drop this whole “job” thing. I don’t want to do it. I am a rabbit, not a person. It’s your job to work. Then the ginormous boss man crouched down towards me and set two things on the ground. They smelled heavenly, but I had never come across this smell before. I creeped forward, slowly, as I was still unsure about the situation, until I reached the mysterious scent. I could not contain myself… I snatched it up in my mouth as fast as I possibly could.
My mouth was salivating… My heart was racing… My taste buds were dancing… And like an addict, I was hooked… If I get these heavenly treats every day then I would be more than happy to get a job here. So that’s where it all began…
Now I am the company model, journalist, treat tester, hay inspector, and customer greeter. And let me tell you… It was the best darn decision I ever made because I sure am living the life here at Round Lake Farm Products…
Well friends… I am reaching the end of my work day. The janitors are about to kick me out. But before I go, I wanted to remind you “Hay, it’s Friday!” Enjoy your weekend. Between you and I, I will be counting down the seconds until Monday morning, because I sure love my job.
I will see you back here next Friday my dear friends!
